Sometimes, I can’t help but be appalled at the methods that people come up with in the hope of beating a drug test. Some of them are downright stupid but harmless. Others are ridiculous and can even be dangerous, especially if the person following it has no idea of how to use some of the products that are mentioned in it. One such method is the Niacin flush drug test method.
For those who are new to it, this method advocates the use of pills to cleanse the body before a drug test.
There are quite a few things that are fundamentally wrong with using niacin to pass a drug test and I’ll explain what they are right here.
Does niacin work for drug test?
Niacin or nicotinic acid is a B Complex vitamin that is usually prescribed for helping lower the levels of LDL or bad cholesterol in people who have high levels of it. Doctors usually recommend using it for people who have cardiovascular problems. The other notable benefit of Niacin is in helping prevent or in some cases, reverse atherosclerosis or hardening of the arteries.
However, there have been unconfirmed reports that Niacin helps in converting the stored body fats into glucose and from there stems the theory that by helping dissolve stored body fat levels, it will also help flush out THC-COOH, a drug metabolite which is stored in body fat cells.Once again, in theory that sounds possible.
But practically, that comes riddled with the risk of dangerous side effects which make it completely not worth the risk.
What are the risks of the Niacin flush drug test method?
For Niacin to be effective, it needs to be consumed in high doses. For this reason, doctors only recommend it as a supportive measure and it is usually clubbed with other medications like statins.
Some of the claims of Niacin being a fat loss aid have been fuelled by the unregulated supplement industry that thrives on exaggerated and unverified claims.
If taken in high doses, which the Niacin drug test method advocates, it can cause like liver damage. Other side effects include excruciating stomach pain, muscle pains and palpitations.
How many niacin pills to pass a drug test?
Just like most other home remedies, there are a variety of recommended doses for Niacin. Some people claim that the minimum recommended dosage is 1000 mg of Niacin for at least four to five days leading up to the day of the test. Others claim that even 500 mg taken 6 hours before the test will be effective.
If only it were that easy! If you are wondering how many niacin pills to pass a drug test, then take a look at some of the easier and recommended methods of beating a drug test that don’t require you to pop dangerous pills by the dozen.
